What are your thoughts on 4chan?

I've started visiting the /x/ board quite a lot in the past couple of days. It's kind of cool, I guess.

However, I can't get over what they've done and what they continue to do.

There's an archived thread where multiple posters were harrassing a person name "Aeris". A ton of them were saying things that just made me sick. They were telling her to commit suicide and all that nasty stuff.

And another thing. The whole Jessie Slaughter incident. THAT was fucked up what they did to her. No matter what she did, she didn't deserve that.

Also one more. The Epilepsy Foundation Attacks. A bunch of Anons raided the forum where he people suffer from epilepsy. They started posting tons of rapidly flashing images. A ton of people got sick and one person reported to have had a seizure.

So...I think I pretty much ruined someone's view on 4chan.

But they're really funny sometimes. Is humor really worth putting up with what they do?

It's not exactly 4Chan doing those acts. It's anonymous, a lot of them come from 4chan, but not all. There's a lot from fatuba, eBaum's World, Encyclopedia Dramatica, and some other forums too.

And it's not like all the members of anonymous do those acts. Anonymous isn't much of a group or organizations, just faceless masses and like all groups of thousands of people you've got some major douchbags.

As for 4Chan itself...it's really weird, especially /b/, full of assholes and pedophiles. So IDK really. Funny thing about 4Chan though, it's ironic actually. They do troll raids and all that but they probably get more trolls and get DDOS'd often than most places.

Although, I think I'd rather live with anonymous than without them.

Their servers are actually incredibly stable.

Well i've gone to 4chan serveral times adn its to big to fit them all in the same place. Some are really sick people. Some are hackers, some are little kids, and some people are really cool there.

I always say that 4chan is a big black pit in the internet, filed with all the scum coughed up by the web. That seems like an accurate way of putting it.

That's it. I'm never going to 4chan again. Not worth it being desensitized and I still want to retain a shred of normalcy.
